They are strange these times, once a tender thing timid in the grass. It has been many nights since his mother gave him a final glance and fled on quick feet out across the meadows, he knew she would not return. So here he rests in the between seeking the sanctuary of the woods where he can grow his antlers and feed on all that is good until the meadows call him out again, a stag in the light. For now though he will rest beneath the buck moon.
Good evening, I hope you are all finding some rest in this full moon or the buck moon and it is known. I don't know the 'known' details but for me this moon always represents a time where there is still a hint of spring germination but also the call to head bravely into a colder time and that's how I wanted to paint this buck not stood proudly with the moon in his antlers but resting with it, knowing that he should take the respite whilst its offered because soon there will be leaner times and he will have a much heavier moon to carry.
