I am a keeper of scraps, bits of paper left behind from paintings I have torn to size or paintings that never made it and still carry hallmarks of their alter egos on the reverse in pencil scratches and thought processes.
It is a secret I wish to share with you that these scraps often end up thinly painted in whatever colour remains in my pallet when a larger piece is completed. Lying quietly next to me I reach over and sweep the last dregs of pigment across the torn edged paper. After this I sketch onto them in pencil any of the little creatures that float by in my mind, not necessarily the ones carrying big stories or wanting to become more (although some do) but just the souls that spend the day lighting my way. My journal fragments are what I call them as they often can be found tucked into the pages. I have so many now that I thought I would share them with you and maybe they will find new homes. So these will be now be available in my shop, mini originals with alot of magic to give. They are a new idea I've had for more 'affordable' art so that it invites more people to be able to have art in their lives. I hope you like them, it feels a strange thing to share with you but I have always thought they were rather beautiful in their own tiny way xx
