 Monsieur Pierre Escargot lived mainly behind the old moss covered gate of number 33. His home was wherever he went which wasn't very far but it satisfied him as his needs were small. As a young snailing he had developed a taste for the finer things such as sauted tulip petals or slow roasted aliums. Over the years this had developed into a belief that he was actually much more than just a snail. So in the morning when he was tucked beneath the hellebores and the old woman came out scratching her head at where all the lettuce leaves had gone Pierre began to wonder with her. I mean what manner of creature would stoop to the consumption of lettuces and not just one or two but an entire bed of them and all overnight?! So he took it upon himself to investigate and now Monsieur Pierre Escargot is a well known detective at number 33 solving many mysteries that all manner of folk bring to his door but the case of the missing lettuce is yet to be concluded...
